I bought the Charlotte Equestrian Center property in 2016 with the goal of creating a welcoming, accessible place for riders of all ages to discover the sport and hone their skills. The CEC is both my business and my home- and I am dedicated to making us a trusted, year-round resource for equestrian expertise in Vermont.

I have a lifetime of experience working with horses. My grandmother gave me my first pony ride at two years old and ignited my passion for these magnificent animals. This early introduction not only fostered my deep love for horses, but made me determined to become a professional in the equestrian world.

I grew up in New Haven, Vermont, with a rich background in equestrian sports. I was fortunate to spend my junior career showing around New England in Hunters, Equitation, and Jumpers- and I learned from some of the best instructors in the region. I was named MVP of the Mount Ida College equestrian team as a freshman, serving as point rider and high point rider, and ultimately taking on the role of captain. I graduated with a BA in Business and Equine Management and a plan.

At the CEC, I’ve transformed my childhood dream into a lifelong commitment. Clients can expect well-informed, responsible management of the animals, and professional instruction that allows horse and rider to test their skills while staying safe and having fun.

You may find me in the ring teaching lessons, on my tractor haying my fields, or packing my trailer for the next horse show.

I am currently one of only a handful of USHJA certified instructors training in Vermont.

I believe in a natural horsemanship foundation, with an emphasis on self-regulation tools. I teach riders of all skill levels and ages how to connect with their equine partners–whether they ride for pleasure or ribbons. I specialize in the classic forward American seat, specifically Hunter/Jumpers/Equitation. Clients can expect careful, detailed instruction to help them achieve their riding goals. I am enthusiastic, knowledgeable and just plain love the horses.

I grew up on Bainbridge Island in Washington, and have been an equestrian since my first pony ride at seven years old. I left the Equestrian Studies program at the University of Findlay to take a position riding and studying under Grand Prix rider David Wright at Hunter’s Court Stable, Tennessee.

In addition to my lifetime of miles in the tack, I have years of experience running lesson programs and turning out show horses on the East coast circuits.

In 2024, I moved to Vermont and began training with Ashley at the CEC.

I am finally now the proud owner of some lesson horses and prospects of my own- Let's go riding!
